Whether you have Celiac disease, a gluten intolerance, or are simply trying a diet without gluten, you probably need to add a few essentials to your natural foods pantry. Here are a few gluten-free staples that will keep you on-track.

1) Whole Grains

  • Rice and Wild Rice
  • Quinoa (not really a grain, but is a great alternative to grain side-dishes)
  • Millet (great for an oatmeal/porridge alternative)


2) Crackers

  • Rice or Seed Crackers (like Mary’s Gone Crackers)


3) Noodles or Pasta

  • Soba Buckwheat Noodles (great for stir fry dishes)


4) Flours (for baking or cooking)

  • Brown Rice Flour (great for quick breads)
  • Almond Flour (great for biscuits, cake, and pan-fried chicken)
  • Coconut Flour (great for pancakes)


5) Sauces, Condiments, and More

  • Tamari (like Soy Sauce but without the gluten. Make sure it says “gluten-free”)
  • Broth (if not home-made, than be sure to buy gluten-free packages)
